Shannon founded geniuspal after watching too many capable students burn out on busywork instead of real learning. In her free time she mentors students one on one, helping them build study habits that fit how their minds actually work. Every guide here comes out of that hands-on time with real learners, not a content calendar.
Why I built geniuspal
I started geniuspal because I kept meeting bright students who were exhausted, not by the ideas in front of them but by the sheer overhead of turning messy notes into something they could actually revise from.
For years I mentored students in my spare time, sitting beside them while they worked. The same pattern showed up again and again: the material was in there somewhere, they just could not pull it out under pressure. What fixed that was never more highlighting. It was active recall, spacing the practice out, and testing themselves honestly.
geniuspal is that approach turned into a tool. You upload what you already have, and it hands back flashcards, quizzes, and summaries built to make your brain do the retrieving. The busywork falls away, and the studying that actually sticks is what remains.
