How your practice test is built

  1. 1

    Upload the material

A set of notes, a lecture deck, or a chapter. Anything you would otherwise be rereading the night before.

  2. 2

    GeniusPal writes the questions

It reads the file and builds a 10-question multiple-choice test, with plausible wrong options rather than obvious filler.

  3. 3

Sit it and see the score

Answer, submit, and get your score with the correct answers. Redrill the ones you got wrong.

Testing beats rereading

A test on your syllabus, not a generic one

  • Questions from your own syllabus

A generic question bank tests a generic course. This tests the material your exam is actually set from.

  • Scored, so you find out where you are

Rereading feels productive and tells you nothing. A score tells you what you would have got if the exam were today.

  • Wrong answers you have to think about

The distractors are written to be plausible, so passing the test means knowing the material rather than spotting the odd one out.

  • Redrill what you missed

Questions you got wrong come back, and the same material is also available as flashcards or a written recall drill.

Practice test questions

How do I make my own practice test?

Upload the notes or slides you are revising and GeniusPal writes a 10-question multiple-choice test from them. You can start without an account.

How many questions do I get?

Each generated set is 10 questions. Upload a different section of the material to generate another test on it.

Are the questions multiple choice?

The scored test is multiple choice. The same uploaded material can also be studied as flashcards or as a written recall drill where you answer from memory.

Can I print the test or give it to a class?

There is no print or export option today. The test is sat inside GeniusPal, which is what lets it score you and bring back the questions you missed.
